Melissa Donovan

 

Melissa Donovan has worked in the commercial, independent and documentary world as a Cinematographer for over 15 years earning critical praise with a Kodak Cinematography Award and recently, with Best Cinematography and Best Documentary Awards from film festivals in the US. A native of Boston, Melissa started her career as a camera assistant to many well-known filmmakers, including Robert Richardson and Carolyn Chen. She went on to be a Director of Photography and most recently the Director and Cinematographer of her own feature length, documentary, ZEMENE, winner of 8 festival awards including, Best World Documentary at the Harlem Int’l Film Festival, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Documentary at the Boston Film Festival, Best Documentary Award at the St. Louis International Film Festival, and Best of the Festival at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival, Best Emerging Filmmaker at the LA Jewish Film Festival and Best Documentray at the San Luis Obispo Int’l Film Festival.
