Robert Mullan

Robert Mullan graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a PhD and, for a short time, taught psychology at a number of universities. He then worked as a researcher at the BBC and Granada Television, and thereafter trained as a director. He subsequently directed over 40 film documentaries about such topics as Motown music, Jainism, women theologians, refugees in Azerbaijan, and so on. Then he began directing his own screenplays, including We Will Sing, loosely based on the Soviet attack on peaceful protestors in Vilnius, 1991. In 2016 he is due to shoot his screenplay Metanoia in Dublin, about the psychiatrist R.D. Laing, with David Tennant, Elisabeth Moss and Sir Michael Gambon.
