Dr. Henri Parens has been in private practice of Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis for over 50 years. He has held a number of Training and Professional Administrative posts and was Director of the Early Child Development Program, MCP/EPPI & President of Parenting for Emotional Growth. He is the author of more than 260 publications, including 22 books (12 authored and 10 co-edited), five scientific films, one DVD Documentary, and one TV series for CBS of 39 1/2-hour programs.

His principal research has led him to efforts toward the prevention of experience-derived emotional disorders in children, and he has generated psychoanalytic explanations and strategies toward the reduction, in individuals and in large-groups, of excessive hostility, violence, malignant prejudice, and war. Dr. Parens is a Holocaust survivor.
