Two days before his Bar Mitzvah, Nono, a big-hearted kid with a wild imagination and a penchant for trouble, is sent to his uncle’s house to be disciplined. It’s not easy being the son of the world’s greatest police detective — there is little Nono can get away with. Gaby, his father’s secretary, appears to be Nono’s only sympathetic ear. She grasps how difficult it is to get on without a mother, nor to have no real knowledge of your past.
With one last chance to prove himself, Nono dodges his father’s plans for a chance collaboration with his sworn nemesis: Master Jewel Thief Felix Glick. Together, Nono and Felix embark on a secret mission through the French Riviera, crossing paths with the sultry Lola Ciperola (played by the captivating Isabella Rossellini) and the mysterious Zohara, a woman whose dark secrets may be the key to Nono’s self-discovery.
Based on the beloved novel by Israeli author David Grossman, this witty, spirited, and action-packed coming-of-age film uses wit and humor to delight dreamers of all ages.
