When it opened Off-Broadway in 2003, GOLDA’S BALCONY sold out each and every performance for 16 weeks straight. Six months later, Tovah Feldshuh’s triumphant performance as Golda Meir, the matriarch of Israel, premiered on Broadway and ran for 507 performances – making it the longest-running one-woman show in Broadway history! In this special limited-seating screening, you are invited to experience the power of Feldshuh’s portrayal of Golda (as well as 45 other characters) on the big screen. You’ll not only have a front row seat to the show but be able to view the performance from angles and perspectives not even afforded to theatergoers themselves!
The rise of Golda Meir from Russian schoolgirl to Prime Minister of Israel is one of the most exhilarating stories of the 20thcentury ever told. Written by Tony Award winning playwright and novelist William Gibson (The Miracle Worker), the play sheds light on Golda’s leadership during the 1973 Yom Kippur War when Israel was attacked by Egypt and Syria and thousands of lives were at stake.
Official Selection of 45 film festivals across the nation, GOLDA’S BALCONY has already been granted ten Audience Awards for “Best Feature” since premiering on the festival circuit earlier this year.
