Born in Israel and raised in Texas, comedian Avi Liberman found the perfect way to bring his life full circle and unite his two greatest passions: Israel and comedy. For the past 15 years, Avi and his cohort of American stand-up comedians have toured Israel with a simple objective: to make people laugh. While confident that Israelis would enjoy seeing their country through the eyes of some of America’s funniest observers, Avi could not have predicted just how powerful an effect these tours would have on his friends and fellow comics. Tourists by day and performers by night, the comedians’ impressions of the Holy Land and its people naturally make their way into their routines.
Through the fusion of fresh material, poignant storytelling, and often irreverent humor, Avi and his friends discover that they have stumbled upon something incredibly special. Now, 100 shows in with over 20,000 tickets sold for charity, Avi and fellow comedians Craig Robinson, Gary Gulman, Wayne Federman and Dan Naturman are ready to bring it and take us along for the ride!
Comedian Avi Lieberman will introduce the film and follow the screening with a live set and audience Q&A!
Avi has performed stand-up comedy on CBS’s The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and Make Me Laugh, and NBC’s Friday Night! His acting credits include Dave’s World, Boston Common, and Andytown U.S.A. Since 2001, he has successfully arranged widely acclaimed stand-up comedy tours in Israel to help boost morale while donating all of the proceeds to charity.
