Introduction to Podcasting Workshop

Learn the basics of podcasting, today’s hottest and fastest growing broadcast medium! In this workshop, we’ll go over how to pitch an idea, prepare for and pull of an interview, and use a basic structure to create a sustainable and engaging podcast.

Instructor Anne Hoffman will share her tips for how to tell a compelling story and make recommendations for an easy and affordable podcast set-up. You will learn what microphones and editing software to use, as well as how to best navigate the variety of platforms available to host your podcast!

About Anne Hoffman

Anne Hoffman is an award-winning radio producer. She is the founder of Philly Audio Diaries, a program that teaches teens and young adults how to tell their stories on the radio. You may have heard Anne’s stories on NPR, Latino USA, BBC or WHYY. She reports long-form radio pieces about health, science and gender. She also edits Heroine, a podcast about powerful women. Anne has taught radio and podcasting to students at Columbia, Temple, NYU and community media centers. She is a proud resident of Philadelphia.
