Sunday, December 8
3 – 3:50 PM @ National Museum of American Jewish History
On Psychoanalysis On and Off the Couch, Dr. Harvey Schwartz introduces listeners to psychoanalysts from across the globe who work in dialysis units, prenatal clinics, corporate board rooms, community centers, and humanitarian organizations. The objective of the podcast is to expand our awareness of how broadly psychoanalytic thinking extends into our communities and our lives.
In this special live podcast, host Dr. Harvey Schwartz will interview Dr. Gavril Hercz, a Romanian/Hungarian/Israeli nephrologist from Toronto, Ontario, who became a psychoanalyst later in his career and practices both specialties today. He is also the founder of the social media site Psychonephrology.com. Schwartz and Hercz will discuss how Hercz brings his psychoanalytic sensitivities to his work with dialysis patients and how his Jewishness influences his work as a physician.
Dr. Schwartz is a psychoanalyst in Philadelphia. In addition to producing Psychoanalysis On and Off the Couch, he is the editor of the forthcoming book The Jewish Thought and Psychoanalysis Lectures.
