Vladimir Friedman graduated from the Moscow Government Theater Arts Academy and performed in the Russian Government Repertory Theater for seven years. In 1990, he received the Best Actor award at the Alternative Theater Festival. He immigrated to Israel with his family a year later and soon began acting in Hebrew. He has launched a rich and successful career performing in theater, film and television.

His work in cinema includes roles in the films Broken Wings (2002), Yana’s Friends (1999), Circus Palestina (1998), Schwartz Dynasty (2005), Letters from Rishikesh (2004), Beitar Provence (2002), Five Hours from Paris (2009), Walls, Rock the Casbah (2012), and others. He performed in the TV series The Champion (2006-2007), Troika, Take Away (2001), Closed Bag, Towers in the Air, Reserve, Wonderful Divorce, Screenz (2007), Napoleon Hills Kids (2003), Sun, Life Is Not Everything, Yeladot Ra’ot (2006), The Battle of Tel Hai (2000), and others.

In 2006, Vladimir won the “Actor of the Year” award for his performance in the play On the Bench. He presented Israeli films at the international festivals of Berlin, San Francisco, Dublin and Moscow. He wrote, directed, and played in the one man show Where I Was Born, based on the story of his immigration to Israel. The play was performed over 2,000 times all over Israel and is still running.

Vladimir has also appeared in Israel and abroad in a musical show where he sings in Russian, accompanied by guitar. He was awarded The Israeli “Russian Aliyah of the Year Award” in the field of Film and Theater.
